George Andrew Johnson
March 10th, 1948 - March 28th, 2025
George A. Johnson of Merrick, West Islip, Bayport, and Port Charlotte passed away on March 28, 2025. He was born in Oceanside, New York to George and Ruth Johnson and was the devoted brother of Stephen Johnson and Lydia Fullwood. He is survived by his loving wife Susan, son Michael and wife Karyn, daughter Kristin and husband David. He was an adoring Peepo to his grandchildren Cameron, Abigail, Rhiannon, Savannah, and Logan. George worked 37 years at Verizon (formerly NY Telephone & NYNEX) with roles of increasing responsibility, retiring as an Engineer. George loved baseball and was an avid softball player, winning the Industrial National Championship in the late 1970’s. He was also an enthusiastic golfer, spending as many good weather days on the course as possible with family and friends.
