Judith Jane (Heuer) Rogers

Judith Jane (Heuer) Rogers, of West Melbourne, Florida, passed away on March 30, 2025 at the age of 85 due to complications from vascular dementia. Judy was born on July 5, 1939 in Toledo, Ohio to George and Jane (Bostwick) Heuer. She met her husband, Daniel M. Rogers, at DeVilbiss High School in Toledo. She and Dan both graduated from the University of Toledo in 1961 where she earned her degree in Pharmacy. They were married in July of 1961.

Judy was a registered pharmacist in Ohio and worked at several pharmacies in Toledo. In 1977, Judy and her family moved to Meadville, Pennsylvania. She obtained her pharmacy license in Pennsylvania and continued to work as a registered pharmacist in both Pennsylvania and Ohio. In 1994 Judy and Dan moved to Melbourne Beach, Florida. Judy retook and passed the Florida Board of exams to obtain her license. She worked at pharmacies in the area before she retired in 2004. 

Judy and Dan enjoyed sailing their Interlake while they lived in Toledo. When they moved to Meadville, they purchased a Flying Scot and continued to sail on several small lakes in Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York and Florida. After they moved to Florida, they began riding bicycles. They rode several miles most days. They eventually started riding recumbent bikes and spent several summers riding them on the trails near Traverse City and Leelanau Michigan.

Judy is survived by her daughters: Janice (David) Mays of Melbourne Beach, FL and Susan (William) Bruss of Evans, GA; and 4 grandchildren: Carolyn (Robert) Williams of Butler, PA, Sarah Mays (Fiancé Jeff Boggs) of West Melbourne, FL, William Bruss of Evans, GA and Kathryn (Andrew) Greenhill of Colorado Springs, CO. She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 60 years and her parents.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
