Lorraine “Lorry” Ann Stover was born on September 11, 1943 in Sacramento, California and passed away in Venice, Florida on March 31, 2025 at the age of 81. A former teacher and banker, she moved to Venice in 1997 from Fredericksburg, VA. Lorraine was a volunteer with Mote Marine Lab Turtle Patrol and a lifelong quilter.
She is survived by her two sons, Jeff Stover and his wife, Beth and Chris Stover and his wife Beth; two grandsons, Gavin & Dawson Stover; a brother, Rick Long and his wife, Dee Dee; a sister, Sally Hite and two nephews Matt and Tim Hite.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her dad, John Long; her mother, Arlene Long Short; a brother, Chuck Long and her husband, Gene Stover.
There are no services planned at this time. Memorial donations may be made to the Dolphin Biology Research Institute, 708 Tropical Circle, Sarasota, Florida 34242.
