Jose Sergio Saucedo Sr., 81, of Mesa, Arizona, formerly of Odessa, Texas, passed away on March 31, 2025, in Mesa, Arizona.

Jose devoted more than four decades to the auto repair industry, earning a reputation for his skill and dedication. His work reflected a strong commitment to craftsmanship and service that left a lasting impression on those he served.

In his earlier years, Jose was a devoted Catholic and an active member of the Holy Name Society. He participated wholeheartedly in church activities that reflected his deep faith and spiritual devotion.

On January 1, 1965, Jose married Elva Patino. Together they shared a long and loving partnership that spanned six decades. He is remembered with love by his wife Elva and their children: Sylvia Rojas, Jose S. Saucedo Jr., Mary Valenzuela, Henry Saucedo, and Virginia Anderson.

Jose also leaves behind his brothers Robert Alva and Antonio Alva; sisters Graciela Carrasco, Isabel Ravelo, and Rosa Alva; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He found joy in life’s simple pleasures—his love for cars and baseball was matched by the pride he took in caring for his yard and plants. Throughout his life, he cherished the companionship of pets who brought him comfort and happiness.

A visitation will be held at Meldrum Mortuary on Sunday, April 6, 2025 from 12pm-8pm with a rosary at 6pm. A funeral mass will be on Monday, April 7, 2025 at 10am at Queen of Peace Catholic Church 30 W 1st St, Mesa, AZ 85201 with interment following at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, 1562 E Baseline Rd, Mesa, AZ 85204.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
