Mavis Tiner Hines, 93, of Colquitt, GA, and a longtime resident of Polk County, FL, passed away peacefully on April 5th,2025. 

Mavis was a woman of unwavering faith, a true embodiment of love, kindness, and devotion. She touched countless lives with her warmth and generosity, always placing her trust in the Lord. Her gentle spirit and steadfast love for her family will be deeply missed but forever cherished.

 

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward Eugene Hines; daughters, Marsha and Shelia Hines; and sons, Jerome and Larry Hines. Mavis is survived by her daughter, Linda Diane Tyler; grandchildren, Krissy and Joseph Pauly, Kelly and Elco Carrasco, and Austin Hines; great-grandchildren, Kaley, Emily, Baliee, Hannah, EJ, Brooke, and Jaxson; and great-great-grandchildren, Brody and Jace. 

 

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” – 2 Timothy 4:7 Though we grieve her passing, we take comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of God, reunited with her loved ones who have gone before her.

A memorial service will be held on May 1, 2025 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Lucerne Park 5650 FL-544 Winter Haven, FL 33881.
