Steven Scherb, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on January 11, 2025. He was born in Hackensack, New Jersey on July 12, 1959, the oldest of four children born to the late Gwendolene and Joseph Scherb.

Steven was raised in Bergenfield, New Jersey before moving with his family to Colorado Springs in 1974. After high school he enjoyed traveling and working in different states before settling in Salt Lake City, Utah. In 2007 Steven moved back to Colorado to be close to his family. He worked a variety of jobs during his life but prided himself on being a baker having worked at both Wonder Bread and King Soopers.

Steven enjoyed music and was an accomplished saxophone player. His numerous hobbies included fishing, gardening, camping, and rock collecting. He loved all animals, and had a great fondness for dogs! In his later years he became an avid beekeeper and enjoyed sharing his honey with others. He had a good sense of humor and enjoyed talking to anyone he met. He was very sociable and appreciated his time spent with family and friends.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, siblings Karen (Mark) Benes, Darren (Sherri) Scherb, sister-in-law, Mary Scherb; 8 nieces and nephews, Jeremy, Kaitlyn (Michael), Erin (Derek), Jaclyn, Kristin (Alan), Christopher (AJ), Ryan (Ellie), Reanna; and 1 great nephew and 2 great nieces, Benson, Gwendolyn, and Elliana. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents and younger brother Tony.

A memorial service will take place Sunday, April 27th at 1:00 pm at Manitou Lake, CO-67, just outside of Woodland Park, CO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Colorado Springs.
