James A. Stamos
July 22nd, 1979 - April 12th, 2025
In Loving Memory
James Stamos of Hopkins, SC, a beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away on April 12th, 2025 at the age of 45.
James was a dedicated pharmacy technician who took great pride in helping others. He was also a lifelong fan of Scooby-Doo, never losing his sense of humor or his love for things that brought him joy. He had a playful spirit and was always ready with a joke or a clever quip, especially when it meant teasing his older brothers. Irritating them was one of his favorite pastimes, hence the well-known and inherited mischievous grin.
He was also a talented cook, known for recreating cherished recipes from the celebrated Stamos Family Cookbook. Meals prepared by James were filled with warmth, comfort, and usually extra cheese.
James faced a lifelong battle with kidney issues, showing incredible strength and resilience through it all. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation in his memory, to help others fighting similar battles.
He will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his humor, heart, and the joy he brought to those around him. May his memory be eternal.
James is survived by his brothers, Peter and Billy (Jennifer) Stamos; his cousins, Jennifer Wilson, James Benton and Josh Benton; along with extended family and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Angelo Peter and mother, Jackie Henderson Stamos; grandparents, William and Julia Henderson; Uncle Lynn Henderson and Aunt Christine Wilson; among other beloved family.
The family will receive friends at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1900 Main Street, Columbia SC 29201 at 9:00 AM. Funeral services will follow the family visitation with the Reverend Fr. Michael A. Platanis officiating. Interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia SC 29209 following the Cathedral service. Memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
