In Loving Memory

Joseph G. Miller passed away on April 19th, 2025 at the age of 75, after a short, but valiant battle against pancreatic cancer.

 

Joe was born in Sharon, Connecticut to John Miller and Margaret (Card) Miller and raised in Millerton, New York. He served in the United States Navy for five years and was honorably discharged on May 25th, 1976. Joe received his A.A.S. degree in Electrical Technology from Mohawk Valley Community College in Utica, New York. He went on to get his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Joe worked in the power industry for 39 years; 25 years at Minnesota Power and 14 years at Enbridge Energy. He had a great skill in Electronics and Computer Applications.

 

Joe was larger than life to those that knew him. He was a great planner and fierce negotiator. If anything needed to be fixed or a problem needed to be solved, Joe was there. He was very compassionate and kind and went out of his way to help others especially in times of crisis.

 

Joe was a Cub Scout leader and very active in the Boy Scouts of America with his son Sean. He enjoyed camping, cruising and traveling with his family.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother David. He is survived by his wife Linda (Bush) Miller, his son Sean (Karissa) and sister Elizabeth (Miller) Dobrwado.

In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the American Cancer Society.

 

Inurnment with Military Honors will take place at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Saginaw at 1PM sharp on Friday May 23rd, 2025. All are invited. Following there will be a Celebration of Life at 2PM at the Pike Lake Presbyterian Church with a meal to follow the service.
