On May 4, 2025 our hearts were broken as we lost our wonderful father George Clifford Dunnells whom we loved and adored. Our father George was born on December 22, 1932, in Brewster, MA, to Howard and Flora Dunnells.  He was a twin to Howard and had a loving older sister, Jeannie. Sadly, George lost his father before his first birthday and at the tender age of 12, suffered the loss of his mother. Separated from his siblings, he was sent to This Hillside School for Boys, where he learned the importance of perseverance and self-reliance, values that would shape the rest of his life.

At 17, George enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving four years during the Korean War. Upon returning home, he met and married Marcia Maloney of Salem, with whom he had three children: Linda, Sandra, and Steven. While working at GenRad in Concord, MA, he pursued his education at Bentley College, demonstrating his unwavering determination to build a better future for his family.

In 1966, George and his twin brother embarked on a project to build a vacation home in their hometown of Brewster. However, tragedy struck again when Howard unexpectedly passed away at the age of 34, leaving behind his wife and three young children. Faced with completing the house alone, George found not only the strength to carry on but also his true calling as a home builder. This experience launched a successful career in real estate development.

George later remarried, to Florence Leet of Bolton.  Together they built a legacy in Building. They built many homes in central Massachusetts and also developed several residential neighborhoods in Bolton, including Nashaway Road, Kettle Hole Road, Fox Run, and Deer Path.  George was well known and respected for his quality homes, honesty, fairness, and generosity.

A man of strong character and selflessness, George was deeply loved by his family.  He leaves behind his children Linda Garvey of Clinton, Sandra Roche of Bolton and Steven Dunnells of Lancaster.  George also leaves behind 8 grandchildren, 15 Great grandchildren as well as family and friends.

His memory will be cherished, and his legacy will live on in the homes he built and the lives he touched. We look forward to and can’t wait for the day when we will welcome him back in the resurrection. Farley Funeral Home in Venice is handling the arrangements.  To send a condolence or memory please visit www.farleyfuneralhome.
