Psalm 23: Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Blaine Daniel Priebe Sr. (age 81) born August 24th, 1943 in Saginaw, MI passed away unexpectedly on May 10th, 2025 in Winter Haven, FL.
Blaine is survived by his three children, Renee (Allan) LaBair, Blaine (Dawn) Priebe Jr. and Cynthia (Jim) Williams; seven grandchildren, Kendra (Kyle) Eaves, Chelsea LaBair Buhl, Connor (Carrie) LaBair, Alexander (Taylor) MacDonald, Jaclyn Priebe, Bryan Priebe and Max Curtis and 10 great grandchildren. Blaine is also survived by his sister Loann (James) Felix and brother David (Kathy) Priebe and a host of nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law Duane (Patricia) Priebe.
A devout Catholic, Blaine graduated from St. Michael’s High School in Pontiac, MI. In 1971 Blaine founded Hadley Molded Products (Clarkston/Millington), a successful plastics injection molding company for over 40 years. A passionate coin collector and antiquer, he loved buying trinkets for those he loved and could find the value in the most unexpected items. Blaine had a green thumb and enjoyed planting and gardening in his later years. Blaine enjoyed playing pranks on his grandchildren and great grandchildren and would go to great lengths to create memorable experiences, even going so far as to hide arrowheads in a farm field to give the impression of a lost battlefield. Or the time he shipped a deer head to Florida from Michigan with a giant glowing red nose attached on Christmas Eve to spread the magic of Rudolph. He was a creative storyteller but was known for his ability to sit and listen to others tell stories for hours and showed particular compassion for the elderly, even from a young age. His wit, belly laugh and smirky smile will be missed by all that loved him.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Winter Haven, FL and final interment with private burial at Ortonville Cemetery in Ortonville, MI on dates to be determined.
