With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of David Michael Barbacano, affectionately known as “Bossman” on May 7, 2025. David passed away peacefully at home in Melbourne, Florida, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, David was a longtime resident of Aston, PA. After retirement, he spent time in Longneck, DE before settling in Florida for his remaining years. David led a life full of love, hard work and cherished memories.
He was the beloved son of Raymond and Julia Barbacano. He is survived by his brother Raymond, sister Jill and was predeceased by his brothers Francis and Gerald, and sister Elaine. He leaves behind his children Michelle Groulx (Joseph), Dina Riley (Michael), and Paul Barbacano. He was preceded in death by his son, David Barbacano Jr., who passed on June 25, 2002. David was a proud grandfather to James Hollenbach (Kellyn), Justin Hollenbach (Krissy), Branden Barbacano, and great-grandfather to Landon, Madison, Kenzington, and Kinzley. He is also survived by his dear friend and partner in crime, Patricia Dandria and many cherished friends.
David proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He built his career as an autobody mechanic and custom car painter before joining The Boeing Company, where he worked as a tool and die maker for 23 years. A Harley enthusiast in his younger years, David was also an avid fan of NASCAR and the Philadelphia Eagles. He was a lifetime member of both the VFW and American Legion.
A celebration of David’s life will be held on June 8, 2025, at 2:00 PM at American Legion Post 163, Melbourne, FL.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to all who have offered love, support and condolences during this time. Your kindness brings comfort and strength as we remember a remarkable man.
