Mercy Rivera

Heaven gained a beautiful angel, Mercy Garcia Rivera on May 11th. Mercy was the youngest of 8 children, daughter of Joe and Stella Garcia. She had 5 beautiful children. Pete, Stephanie, Jolene, Shawn and Emanuel. Stephanie and Emanuel awaited their mother's arrival at Heaven's Gate. She is survived by 12 living grandkids and preceded in death by a grandson baby angel.Her death was unexpected and she had recently retired from her job as a Walmart cashier of many years. She was an employee favorite for many years and she is greatly missed at her old job. She made many great friends along the way.Mercy raised her kids alone and was a wonderful mom to all of them and an incredible aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Mercy started a strong family tradition called COUSIN NIGHT. A big crazy sleepover with all of the cousins. Her home was the most fun, especially around any holiday where she would go off the rails decorating and making everything fun and loving. She embraced all of us with her sweet smile and loving arms. She was generous beyond her own ability but it was a testiment of her big loving heart.
