Leslie Renee Hendon, 43, of Lake Wales, Florida, passed away on May 15, 2025. She was born in Tampa, FL on July 10, 1981, to James Thomas Hendon IV and Sherry Ann Vann. For the past several years, Leslie worked as a Talent Acquisition Recruiter Coordinator at Concentrix, where she brought care, intelligence, and purpose to her work.

Leslie lived a life fueled by curiosity and creativity. She found joy in reading, writing, watching movies, and gaming — she brought creativity and intelligence to everything she did. Those who knew her describe her as brilliant and independent, yet deeply kind and empathetic. She had a quick sense of humor, a strong sense of self, and a heart that embraced others with understanding and compassion.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Sherry Ann Vann. Leslie leaves behind her devoted boyfriend, Michael Allen Porter, with whom she shared nine years of love and companionship; her father, James Thomas Hendon IV; her brothers, James Thomas Hendon V and Brandon Anthony Hendon; her nephew, Luke Thomas Hendon; and Luke’s mother, Latessa Smith. Each will carry her memory forward with love.

Family and friends are invited to gather in her honor on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Leslie’s inurnment will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery at a later date.
