Shan Ramnauth
January 4th, 1987 - May 18th, 2025
In Loving Memory of Shan Ramnauth
Shan Ramnauth, 38, of Davenport, FL, passed away on May 18, 2025, at his residence. He was born on January 4, 1987, in George Town, Guyana, to Nandram Ramnauth and Jasmat Persaud.
Shan proudly served in the US Army for 8 years, achieving the rank of Specialist (SPC), and was honorably discharged. During his service, he earned several decorations including the Army Commendation Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Combat Action Badge, and Driver and Mechanic Badge-Mechanic. He then pursued a career in education, teaching middle school history in New York for three years, followed by three years as a child protection officer. In 2018, he relocated to Davenport, FL, where he worked as a parole officer for one year.
Shan was passionate about the outdoors and physical fitness, enjoying shooting, fishing, and frequent trips to the gym. Always maintaining a healthy lifestyle, Shan was known for his attention to cleanliness and organization—often joked about for his “OCD” tendencies. He loved spending time with his daughters, especially taking them to the range. Those who knew him will remember his respectful nature, protective spirit, tough exterior, and unforgettable sarcastic sense of humor.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 17 years, Sasha Ramnauth; his daughters Gabriella and Arianna Ramnauth; his parents Nandram and Jasmat Ramnauth; his brother Nicholas Ramnauth; his parents-in-law Wayne and Elizabeth Ragbir; and his brothers at heart, Shane, Richard, and Randy.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025, at 10:00 am followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am with military honors, all at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven, FL.
