Nitardy Funeral Homes - Fort Atkinson
Sharon Sue Mink
March 24th, 1941 - May 8th, 2025
Sharon Sue Mink (Calhoun) passed away on Thursday May 08, 2025 at Sun Prairie Senior Living with family by her side. She was born on March 24, 1941 to Clair (Frank) Calhoun and Palma Marie (Olsen) Calhoun.
Sharon 'Sue' was the youngest of their four children. Raised on a farm in the Brooklyn-Madison area, the children worked hard, and had good old-fashioned values. They may not have had the fanciest clothes or toys, but there was always plenty to eat. With other Calhoun farms and relatives nearby - Sunday Chicken dinners and Baseball games were common. Sue attended Brooklyn and Central High Schools.
Sue loved traveling. She was employed for many years as a Secret-Mystery Shopper. She would travel to different areas auditing restaurants incognito; documenting the temperature and taste of the food as well as friendliness, cleanliness and appearance of the store.
Whenever possible, she loved to take a grandchild with her as a taste-tester. When the grandchild was returned home after a secret shopper trip, their cheeks were chubbier due to all the taste testing. During those trips, there was always time to visit parks, museums and site see.
Sue enjoyed fishing, camping, shopping, and family trips to Wisconsin Dells, Disneyland and Horse Shows.
Sue made frequent trips across the country, keeping family connected. She was a master of organization and maps. No GPS was available. No one messed with grandmothers' maps.
Sue also worked in the Restaurant and Hospitality Business. She made close friendships that lasted forever. Her besties Paula and Tony Simon had many Nascar and other priceless adventures over the years.
Sue loved family - she encouraged independence, working hard and sense of humor. Impossible to fill 'Gram-crackers' (keds tennis) shoes.
Sue is survived by her children, Julie Borgrud (Gene Portman) Fort Atkinson; Cynthia Ferreira Fort Atkinson and Therea Blodgett Whitewater. Grandchildren Jason (Ashlie) Enriquez; Jonathan Enriquez; Stephanie (Chriss) Wimmer; Haley Borgrud; Dalton Borgrud. Greatgrandchildren Khloey, McKenna, Cash, Jameson, Hudson and Everett. Half siblings Kathy Casad and Michael Calhoun. Many nieces, nephews and other family members including Jeffrey (Tracy) Blodgett-.
Sue is preceded in death by her Husband Floyd Stuart Mink, Parents, step parents Inez Calhoun and James Keyes. Grandson Justin Mousette, Brother Peter Calhoun, Sisters Charlene Fitzgerald and Patricia Quass. Stepbrothers Leon Cloud and Dean Cloud and stepdaughter Sharalyn Mink-Eblen.
Visitation at Nitardy in Fort Atkinson on Friday May 30 from 4-6 pm. Service will follow at 6pm. Meal after the service will be held at 252 W. Blackhawk Drive, Fort Atkinson.
Our family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Sun Prairie Senior Living as well as the Hospice Team. The care provided was individually specialized by all the Nurses, CNAs, and the entire staff of this facility.

We Entrusted Sharon Mink's Care To
Nitardy Funeral Homes - Fort Atkinson
We have proudly served the Southern Wisconsin community for over 90 years, when Hilmar A. Nitardy opened his first funeral home in the area. In 1984, his son Russ knew it was time to offer professional, compassionate services to the Fort Atkinson community, and we constructed a new funeral home to address its needs. We feel so fortunate to be a part of the community, and have grown our family alongside the community for three generations....
