Stephen Paul Brown

Stephen Paul Brown, age 80, entered the presence of His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on May 24, 2025.  He was born on April 5, 1945 during a blizzard in Owatonna, Minnesota.  He is the son of the late Paul and Helen Brown who resided in Kasson, Minnesota.  Steve was also preceded in death by his brother, William Kent Brown. 

Steve is survived by one son Neil Brown (Debbie); two granddaughters, Elyna Brothers (Mason), Olivia Barulii (Ben), and one grandson, Neil “Isaac” Brown.  In addition, Steve is survived by his brother Stan Brown (Mary) and three nieces Sarah Lawlor (Devin), Betsey Dietrich and Rachel Brown along with several great nieces and nephews as well as great-great nieces and a great-great nephew.

Steve graduated from Cedarville University in 1967 and from Indiana University in 1968 with a Masters degree in Library Science and was married later that year.  After serving two years in the Army, Steve served His Lord as a Librarian, first at Cedarville College (now Cedarville University) and then at Indiana Wesleyan University for a total of fifty-one years.  Steve played an instrumental part in the development and maintenance of the Christian Periodical Index and is currently listed on their website as Editor Emeritus. 

Serving the Lord was a priority for Steve during his entire life.  A private funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025.
