John Nazar
June 12th, 1938 - May 28th, 2025
John Nazar, of Davenport, FL born on June 12, 1938, in Northampton, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at home on May 28, 2025, in Davenport, Florida, with his beloved wife Jane by his side. He was 86 years old.
John was the son of Anne Zadubera and John Nazar and was raised in Queens, New York, alongside his younger brother Stephen. He attended PS 49 for grades 1 through 8, continued his education at Newtown High School, and later pursued studies at NYU. John also proudly served in the United States Army.
A popular and well-rounded student, John had a natural talent for music, especially the piano, and a strong love for sports. He also had a lifelong passion for model Lionel trains and Britains toy soldiers.
John married his first wife, Anne, with whom he had four children: Anne, Christine, Laura, and John. The family lived in Connecticut while John commuted to New York City to work at the New York Telephone Company. After his first marriage ended, John moved to California where he worked full-time for the phone company and took on part-time work at the Biltmore Hotel and other venues.
Eventually, John returned to the East Coast and joined AT&T in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. It was there that he met Jane while giving marketing seminars to new recruits. The two were married in 1987. John later secured his dream role as an AT&T Special Events Coordinator, allowing him and Jane to travel across the United States. When at home in New Jersey, they enjoyed golf, tennis, racquetball, boating, horse races, and cocktail hours with friends—especially at their friend Mario’s restaurant.
John and Jane later moved to Boynton Beach, Florida, where AT&T arranged a transfer. John commuted to Miami for several years before retiring. Even in retirement, John stayed active by volunteering as an assistant high school football coach, working part-time at Hunters Run Golf Course, and later at Disney. His love of travel took him to places like Hawaii, California, Vegas, St. Kitts, Key West, New York, London, Australia, and New Zealand.
In 2010, John and Jane made their permanent home in Davenport, Florida, and lovingly took on the role of caregivers for Jane’s mother, Anna, and her sister, Joan, who lived nearby. John was a devoted and caring son-in-law and brother-in-law, assisting with daily care, medications, and family holidays. Earlier this year, John and Jane joyfully celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary.
John will be laid to rest at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery in Colonia, New Jersey, where several members of Jane’s family also rest.
John was deeply loved throughout his life and will be forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew him.
