Dauphine Janeth (Jan) Harris, 91, passed away in her home on April 26, 2025 in Lakewood, Colorado.

Jan was born on July 18, 1933 to the late Robert and Erna (Kerstein) Williams in Chicago, Illinois. She met Daryl Harris, a Wisconsin native, while he was traveling in Chicago, and they were married on February 26, 1951. They soon moved to Colorado, living in Manitou Springs, Wheat Ridge and settled into their life-long home in Lakewood in 1966.  Together, they raised three children; Sharon, Mike and Darin.  She loved a house filled with family and friends, vacations, camping, backyard barbecues and held Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners at her house for 59 holiday seasons. Jan was a self-employed day care provider for over a decade until her retirement.  She selflessly spent years as Sharon’s guardian and caretaker, a duty that intensified greatly when Sharon was paralyzed in December, 2010.  Her infectious smile, soothing personality, empathetic nature, and desire to help anyone, made her loved by all who knew her.

Her parents, Robert and Erna (Kerstein) Williams, siblings Bob (Sonny), Nora, Evelyn and Elsie and husband Daryl preceded her in death.  She is survived by her daughter Sharon, sons Mike and Darin, grandchildren Hanah, Keanu, Rolan, Aidan and Sawyer and numerous nieces, grandnieces, nephews and grandnephews.
