He will always be missed, but will never be forgotten.
William James Gilmore. (Nicknames-Poppy, Pop Pop Bill, Sneakerman) Born in Newark, New Jersey on November 27, 1951. He died peacefully surrounded by family in Palm Bay, Florida, he was 73. He moved to Keansburg, NJ and lived there mostly throughout his adult life. He was a member of the United States National Guard. He was a bus driver for 30 years until recently moving to Sebastian, Florida. He was pre-deceased by his mother Patricia Wnorski of Keansburg , NJ. and his son Stephen Mills, who left us in 2006. He leaves behind his wife of 45 years Carolyn Mills, who loved him unconditionally until his last day. He leaves behind his son Billy Gilmore and wife Jessie Gilmore, of Hazlet NJ, daughters Tracey Mitchell and husband James Mitchell of Union Beach NJ, and Jamie Maxson of Palm Bay, FL. He had 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren who he adored. Michael Mills and his wife Nicole of Staten Island NY, Kyle, Makailee, Grace, Zachary, Alex, Adrian & Sienna, and great grandchildren, Logan & Emily. Not to forget his grand dog, Baloo. Bill was a die hard sports fan. He was first and foremost a forever New York Yankees fan, he loved every part of baseball. He was a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan. He often marveled on how he won his 2nd grade Spelling Bee by a landslide. He loved spending time with his family and loved being around his grandchildren and attending all their games and activities. Bill had a unique sense of humor, people that knew him were fascinated by his unmatched and unfiltered perspective on everything. He loved his wife “Mills” and had a special bond with her until his final day. He will always be missed, but will never be forgotten.
