Deb Tomaselli
March 5, 1956 – May 31, 2025
Deb Tomaselli, 69, of Venice, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2025. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, on March 5, 1956, Deb spent her life caring for others, both personally and professionally.
A dedicated critical care nurse for 40 years, Deb brought compassion, resilience, and heart to everything she did, including her defeat of breast cancer and raising her 3 children. In her last years, she continued her life of service by caring for her mother, Sheila Hird, in Venice.
Deb had an unmistakable spark—she was a proud hippy with a sharp wit. She loved reading on her Kindle, solving Wordle puzzles, strong coffee, and catching up with her family. She was also a skilled baker, a gardener, and could hold her own at the pool table.
Her favorite shows included Law & Order: SVU, Downton Abbey, and Nurse Jackie—all stories of strength, justice, and complexity, much like her own life.
Deb is survived by her children, Nicholas, Steven, and Kathryn; her mother, Sheila Hird; her siblings LiDonna Mohan, David Maxcy, and Paul Baker; and many loved ones who will miss her deeply.
A small memorial service will be held on the beach at Tarpon Springs on Friday, June 6, at 11:00 a.m. In honor of Deb’s love for the ocean and Tarpon Springs, attendees are encouraged to bring a story to share.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you read a good book or take a well-earned nap—just as Deb would have wanted.
