Joan Foster

Joan Foster, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and matriarch, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on November 7, 1944, in Brooklyn, New York, Joan was the cherished daughter of William Mann and Emma Spahn. Joan is survived by her devoted husband, Edward J. Foster Sr., with whom she shared a lifetime of love and partnership. Together, they built a home grounded in care, discipline, and unconditional support. She was a loving mother to Lisa Shuff, Edward Foster Jr., and Douglas Foster, and a proud grandmother to a large and loving family. She was grandmother to Laci Walker, Jamie Shuff, and Aaliyah Shuff by her daughter Lisa; to Ty Foster by her son Edward Jr.; to Ariyahs Langford, Wyatt Walker, and Scarlet Walker by her granddaughter Laci; and to Janessa Manno and Jace Manno by her granddaughter Jamie. Joan was a woman of strength and devotion, whose life was centered around her family. She dedicated herself fully to raising her children, ensuring they were always fed, clothed, and most importantly, educated. She took pride in making sure they went to school and were given every opportunity she and her husband could provide. Her tireless efforts created a strong foundation for future generations, a legacy of love, perseverance, and integrity. Joan’s legacy lives on in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who will continue to honor her memory by living with the same values she so deeply instilled.
