David Alan Hoffer

David Alan Hoffer, age 60, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on May 3rd, 2025, at his home. He was born in Allendale, Michigan on February 1, 1965, to Lyle Hoffer and Helen “Ruth”(Bolthouse) Hoffer. He grew up on a small farm with his brother, Paul. His family grew produce and flowers in their greenhouses and sold them at various local farmer’s markets. His love of working outside in the garden (especially with John Deere tractors) remained throughout his life. After graduating from Allendale High School in Allendale, Michigan, he went on to earn a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering at Michigan Technological University in Houghton, Michigan. He went on to work as a software engineer in Michigan and in Colorado, most recently working for Bluestaq in Colorado Springs.

In his spare time, he enjoyed growing strawberries, raspberries and other produce and selling them at local markets. He enjoyed hiking throughout Colorado with his wife and children as well as vacationing on Marco Island and working on projects alongside his children. He loved his family and the Lord, and led them as a Godly husband and father.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and his brother Paul. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 33 years; Susan (Cary) Hoffer and their four children; Joshua, of Santa Ana California, Jacob, Sarah and Isaiah of Colorado Springs, as well as many other relatives, friends and co-workers. A private burial service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs.

A memorial service will be held at Rocky Mountain Calvary-4285 North Academy Blvd., Colorado Springs on June 19 at 3:00 pm. Light refreshments will be served to follow. There will be a second service in Michigan at the Georgetown Bible Church in Hudsonville, Michigan on June 27 at 2 pm.
