Doris L. Goss

Doris L Goss - our beloved Mom - passed away on June 6, 2025 at the age of 94. She was born in Bay City Michigan on September 23, 1930 to Walter and Irene Fales. After she graduated from Bay City Central High School in 1948 she worked in a medical office in town.  She married the love of her life, Lester, in June of 1952. In 1956 they moved their growing family to Scottsdale Arizona, where they raised their 4 children.  Mom and Dad joined Valley Presbyterian Church in 1957, and remained active throughout their lives. Mom was very active in the VPC choir.  She was also a founding member of the McConnell Singers at Phoenix College and was an active member until 2006.  Mom was a devoted stay home mom where she sewed many of everyone's clothes, took up crocheting for a while, read a huge variety of books and made the BEST apple pie.  In 1987 they moved to their final home in  Chandler.  After Dad retired, they traveled all over the world, and spent many beautiful summers at their home in Overgaard.  

She is preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Lester and their son Terry. She is survived by her daughters Cathy Weflen (Bob), Linda Stewart (Darrell) and Susan Lightburne (Dave), 6 adoring grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

We would like to thank all our friends and neighbors for their support. We would like to also thank her caregivers at Elite Quality Home Care for their gentle and loving care.
