Beverly Opal Novalsky
May 6th, 1940 - June 7th, 2025
Beverly Opal Novalsky (Grunewald) passed away peacefully on June 7, 2025, under the compassionate care of Traditions Healthcare and the Biltmore Care Home in Phoenix, Arizona. She was born on May 6, 1940, in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, to Walter and Mildred (Shirley) Grunewald. Beverly was baptized and confirmed at Bagstevold Lutheran Church in Erhard, Minnesota.
She grew up on the family farm and attended District Sixteen School near Erhard. Beverly graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1957 and began her professional career at a law firm in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. She met her future husband, Harold Dee Thomas, and they were married on September 16, 1958. The couple moved to Canton, Ohio, where they welcomed two children, Dennis Dee (1959) and Denise Jann (1961). In 1965, the family relocated to Phoenix, Arizona, and later divorced.
While working at Lockheed Martin Corporation, Beverly met Clarence H. Lynch Jr., whom she married in 1968. Together, they had one son, Clarence Henry Lynch III, born in 1969. She later married Thomas Novalsky.
Beverly spent her career as an executive secretary, known for her professionalism, dedication, and warmth. She retired from the BHHS Legacy Foundation in 2015.
She is survived by her children Dennis, Denise, and Henry; grandsons Tyler and Hunter; great grandson Colton; brothers Wally and Duane; sisters-in-law Jonelle and Connie; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members—all of whom she deeply loved and cherished. To her many friends and loved ones, please know that even when her ability to communicate declined in recent years, Beverly thought of you often, shared fond memories, and loved you dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Aldon; and her grandson, Joshua.
A private service will be held, and Beverly will be interred at Mesa City Cemetery. A celebration of life will follow later this summer.
