Jake Flavio Maestas

January 28, 1947 - June 3, 2025

Our fun-loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and friend to all, Jake Maestas, 78, passed away from the physical world to win his battle with cancer in the spiritual world on Tuesday, June 3, 2025.

Jake was one of 7 children born to Leopoldo Maestas, and Barbarita Marquez Maestas in Las Gallinas, New Mexico on January 28th, 1947. The family later resided in Denver, CO where Jake received his education at Mapleton High School in 1965. Jake served in the Military as a Construction Machine Operator where he received the Prestigious Purple Heart following his honorable discharge from the Army in 1972.

Jake married the love of his life Antonia Bustamante Maestas (Toni) following his return from the Army on May 4, 1968, in Denver, CO. Their love produced 3 children, Richard Maestas (Tracey Maestas) and their children Brandon, Kristopher, and Justin; Annette Serrano (Jaime Serrano) and their children Marc, Merisa, Brigette, Adrian and Genesis; Jake Jr. Maestas (Lisa Maestas) and their children, Sarah, Rachel, Jake III, and Michael. Altogether they share 12 grandchildren, and 24 beloved great grandchildren.

Jake was known for his charismatic energy, his playful nature, and for his absolute cool guy charm. He had a smile that could light up any room, and eyes that could melt your heart. He made everyone he met feel important and loved, which was a gift that only he could possess. Jake will be extremely missed by his surviving friends and family, but he is welcomed with open arms by the ones he has survived.

“And God will wipe every tear from your eyes, there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying, there shall be no more pain for the former things have passed away. “Revelation 21:4
