It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sheilaji Kapoor, who departed this life on June 08, 2025 at the age of 83. A cherished member of the community, Sheilaji was a beacon of kindness, warmth, and unwavering support to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Sheilaji was born on December 06. 1941 in Dera Ismail Khan, India (now in Pakistan) and grew up in Delhi. She was known for her boundless curiosity, courage, and zest for life and she attended Lajpat Nagar High School and later Delhi University. She married Deepak Kapoor on December 11, 1958, in Delhi, India; they have four children.
Sheilaji’s life was a mosaic of memorable moments, vibrant pursuits, and a steadfast commitment to her loved ones. As a devoted partner, she stood by Deepak Kapoor's side through life's joys and challenges, building a home filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Together, they raised a family that became a testament to their enduring bond.
She spent her free time painting, gardening, playing chess and cards, and found time for charitable activities. She volunteered to deliver meals to the aged and disabled (Meals on Wheels), helping the nursing staff at Health First Hospital, serving in international medical camps in India and Africa, building new hospitals in India establishment of a school Punjab for the orphans plus assisting with local charities such as The Daily Bread. Sheilaji never hesitated to spend her money or time on any activity that involved serving others.
Her contributions extended far beyond her immediate circle. Sheilaji touched countless lives with her acts of kindness, her unwavering support to those in need, and her dedication to fostering a sense of community.
She is survived by her husband Deepak Kapoor and children: Shabnam Satyarthi, Budrish Kapoor, Parveen Kapoor Garr, Kedar Pawan Kapoor; four grandchildren, and six great grand-grandchildren.
Sheilaji will be profoundly missed by her family, friends and thousands of people around the world who came in contact with her.
