Laura Kay Scherer Lloyd

Laura Kay Scherer Lloyd, entered the gates of heaven on June 10, 2025, at the age of 69, in Haines City, Florida.  

Born on January 11, 1956, in Toledo, Ohio. She was an amazing saver and bought her first car (Chevy Vega) at the age of 16. She touched the hearts of many people in the course of her life and many people looked at her as a mother figure. Laura graduated from Boca Raton High School in 1974. She was an entrepreneur and owned her own daycare and a cleaning business with her sister Mary (5 STAR CLEANING SERVICE for 5 years).  

Her personal interests included: puzzles, family trips, reading, and watching her favorite television shows. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, making crafts, pool days, raising and releasing butterflies with her grandchildren/ great-grandchildren.  

Laura was a loving wife of 49 years to Michael G. Lloyd, Caring mother to Shannon M. Lloyd, Brian (Katie) Lloyd, and Adam (Erin) Lloyd. Devoted sister to Mary K. Pouncey (Harry), and Julie L. Creamer.   In addition, Laura is survived by her mother Jacqulyn Scherer, 5 grandchildren Parker, Norah, Grayson, Hunter (Nicole), and Katelyn (Storm), 4 great-grandchildren, Payton, Karsyn, Ryver, Rylan, and many other extended family members.  

Laura was preceded in death by her father Richard Scherer, sister Nancy H. Lewandowski, nephews Matthew R. Lewandowski, Gregory M. Creamer, and niece Angela L. Jenkins.  

At Laura's request there will be no service at this time. She is being cared for by Oak Ridge Funeral Care.
