Delroy Hawkins Was born February 4, 1941 in Jefferson City, Missouri to Albert and Lorene Hawkins. He attended Jefferson City High School. He was an all-star athlete, excelling in track and football. He set records that still stand to this day.
1957 Delory Married Sheila West; from this union four beautiful daughters were born.
In 1961 Delroy, became a master barber. He continued to cut hair until his health began to fail.
In 1969 he moved his family to St. Paul, Minnesota.
1971 Delroy became a Deputy Sheriff with the Ramsey County Sheriff's Department. In 1988 while off- duty He was injured while stopping a robbery in progress. For his heroic actions Delroy received the medal of Valor and was awarded Minnesota Police Officer of The Year.
In 1998, To everyone's surprise Delroy retired at the young age of 57.
Meeting his true Soulmate, Traveling Partner and Best Friend Anne making his family complete. Together they took on grandparenting as a serious hobby. Other hobbies included traveling, bowling, and fishing. You could always find Del on the water or at the golf course, or his favorite place, the “Legion." While enjoying retirement and escaping winters they became Snowbirds in San Benito, Texas up until 2021.
Delroy was a man of strength, love, character, commitment, hardworking, and it goes without saying “FINE.” As the Patrich, he was the father to many
Delroy was welcomed in Heaven's Gates by both Parents, Special Aunt Hattie, Daughter Darla, Brothers Larry (Butch), Tilford, Craig, and Paul.
To honor his legacy, Wife Anne Hawkins, Daughters Rhonda Revels (Don), Georgetta Hawkins, (Leslie & Garland Kingsbury), Delene Thomas-Sanders (Rory), Christine Fountaine (Kevin Sr) Lavonda Pittman. Siblings Stan Hawkins Sr, Shirley Triplett-Perry, James Hawkins, Bewey (Chip) Britt, George Hawkins, Rene Hawkins, and Penny Hawkins. Grandchildren, DelBrian Hawkins-Revels, Maurice Revels, Talisha Sinquefield (Shane), Jamaran Hawkins, Janice Jones, Lamont Banks, Rena Hawkins, Michele Thomas, Jay Thomas. 24 Great-Grandchildren and 6-Great-Great Grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
