William "Bill" Roger Harmon

William “Bill” Harmon, 86, of Colorado Springs, passed away on May 27. He was born in Wichita, Kansas, the third son of Lillian (Thoman) and Ray Harmon. After graduating from Wichita East High School and Wichita State University with a degree in mechanical engineering, he had a long and successful career as a principal and partner in engineering firms in both Denver and Colorado Springs. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Bob and Ray, his son-in-law Jerry Schwartz, and his partner and business partner Judy Hall. He is survived by his former wife, Margaret Rose Knowlton; his children Carrie Harmon of Atlanta and Chris (Jackie) Harmon of Savannah; and by four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Bill was an avid golfer, gardener and amateur pilot and could often be found enjoying a burger in the Grille at Patty Jewett or throwing the ball to his beloved rescue pup, Mr. Blue. He remained a Kansas farm boy at heart, but lived most of his adult life in Colorado, where he never tired of the mountains and blue skies. We will miss his wry sense of humor and his gentle spirit. The family will hold a private memorial service and requests donations to The First Tee of Southern Colorado.
