George Salvatore Black

George S. Black, 75, of Sebastian, Florida, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 9, 2025. He was born on December 23, 1949, in Newark, New Jersey, and was known throughout his life for his generous heart and unwavering devotion as a husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend.

George grew up in Bricktown, New Jersey, and proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He earned a combat promotion and was awarded two Purple Hearts for his bravery and sacrifice.

In 1970, George married the love of his life and best friend, Karen. They recently celebrated 55 years of marriage—a lifelong partnership marked by love, laughter, and unwavering support. Together, they raised three children: Cindy, Jennifer, and George. He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren—Christopher, Wayne, Wyatt, Haley, Brayden, and Savannah—and a great-grandson, Cole.

Following his military service, George remained committed to supporting fellow veterans. For 11 years, he volunteered as a Benefits Officer, tirelessly working to ensure veterans received the care and recognition they deserved. He took great pride in this role and was deeply fulfilled by helping others.

George found joy in the simple things—especially fishing and spending quality time with Karen, his constant companion. The two also loved going crab trapping together, sharing countless peaceful days on the water. His strength, kindness, and sense of humor will be remembered and deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
