In Loving Memory of

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved family member, Charles "Chazz" Linney, 55. He passed away on June 15, 2025 at his home after a long fought battle with his health, just as he wished, surrounded by those that meant the most to him. Chazz, as he liked to be called, was born in Louisville, KY on May 25, 1970. He is the son of Jana S. Linney and Phillip Anthony "tony" Linney.

Chazz was a graduate of Mt. Vernon Township High School in Mt. Vernon, IL. He was very proud to earn his Electrical Apprenticeship while working for James W Knight Electric Inc. Chazz spent the majority of his life living in Florida, which worked well with his favorite pastime, his love for motorcycles. Anyone that knew Chazz understood his love for things with big motors, and that went fast. This very much included his love to get on his Harley and ride. He loved the open road and having the wind in his hair. Literally, he refused to ever wear a helmet. He said his head was as hard as a helmet, and we tend to agree. He also loved working on anything with a motor, and he was good at it. Most of all he loved making everyone laugh, even at the sake of sacrificing himself.

Chazz was preceded in death by his beloved Grandfather, Roy E. Reynolds and his Grandmother J. Inez Reynolds, who meant the world to him. He is survived by the absolute love of his life, Darla Gomez, with whom he has spent the last 15 fulfilling years of his life. His children, Dustin Wilson, Tiffany (Linney) Ellis, Trianna Linney, Tabitha Linney and his bonus son, Mucio Gomez. Grandchildren, Tyson, Ella, Cruz, Eli, and Maddie.

Parents Phillip "Tony" Linney and Jana S. Linney. Sisters, Jeannine Mohler, Briana Linney, and one niece Meadow Ryann Drollinger. Chazz and his loving partner, decided on cremation as a way for them to be joined together again in the future.

A celebration of life will be held for all who loved and knew him, at his home on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 from 4pm-9pm.

For those who truly knew Chazz, knew that he was steadfast and true to what he believed in. He was a hard worker and never took his job for granted. He loved his children and Darla as hard as he worked. He loved to laugh and his laugh was infectious, but with that being said never get on his bad side. His ability to tell you how he felt, was just as strong as his ability to make you laugh. There is no doubt his smile and presence will be greatly missed. We are sure he is enjoying a long ride on his Harley with the wind blowing his hair.
