David Lawrence Schroeder
July 25th, 1943 - June 14th, 2025
David was born in Springville, New York, as the second of six children to Beatrice Iona Grubbs Schroeder and Anthony August Schroder. He moved from New York to Texas in 1958, where he graduated from Burnet High School. Shortly after graduation, he joined the Air Force, where he served for eight years, including active duty in the Vietnam War (Conflict), then returned to Colorado to teach nose radar on the S4C. Once he left the Air Force, he worked for Texaco/Shell, starting as a petroleum transport driver and retiring in pipeline flow management.
David is preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice Iona Grubbs Schroeder, and father, Anthony August Schroeder. He leaves behind two sisters, Joanne Akins and Margaret Blasingame, and three brothers, William (Bill) Schroeder, Rex Schroeder, and Thomas (Tom) Schroeder, as well as multiple nieces, nephews, and several great-nieces and nephews.
David was a devoted Catholic and enjoyed serving in his local churches. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, and spending time in the Colorado mountains. While on leave in the Air Force and after his service, he traveled extensively, visiting all 50 US states and circumnavigating the globe twice. David was generous and known to do anything to help others. He enjoyed woodworking and shared the craft with many friends and neighbors over the years.
As family and friends grieve David, they are reminded of a phrase he said often: “I have no complaints in life!”.
