Mary Evalyn Wilson
December 20th, 1925 - June 19th, 2025
Mary Evalyn Wilson passed peacefully on June 19, 2025 in Venice, Florida. She was 99. Born on December 20, 1925 in Greenville, South Carolina, Mary attended Florida State University where she met her husband Dean Wilson. They were married on August 22, 1947. They lived in Decatur, Georgia before moving to Florida in 1964. Mary and Dean eventually moved to The Villages, Florida in 1996 where they enjoyed retirement and had many good friends.
Mary is survived by 3 children, Quen (wife, Dianne), Dan (wife, Julie), Doretta (husband, Jim), and 6 grandchildren- Jennifer, Christa, Samantha, Brian, Mary Lee, and Matthew. She also had 9 great- grandsons, 1 great- granddaughter, and two step great-granddaughters. Mary dearly loved all the kids and would continually asked about them.
Mary had a long career as an Office Manager in the agriculture lending industry and retired in 1984. She was very active in community service and her church. At The Villages, playing golf became her favorite past-time and she was very proud to be noted for two hole-in-one scores. In addition to golf, she enjoyed playing cards with friends and family.
Mary is dearly loved by all and well known for her sense of humor and dedication to her family. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
A service will be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 11 am.
