Robert Aaron Keys
July 8th, 1939 - June 21st, 2025
Robert Aaron Keys, 85, of Concord, VA, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Alice Layne Keys for 61 years.
Born July 8, 1939 in Telford, TN, he was a son of the late Thomas L Keys and Ida Faye Bailey Keys. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Keys, Jr. and James A. Keys He was a graduate of Concord High School and formerly a dairy farmer before retiring from the United States Postal Service as a rural carrier in Concord, VA and a long time and faithful member of Thomas Terrace Baptist Church. Bob loved riding his various motorcycles throughout the years. He served six years in the National Guard.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Layne Keys; a son, Robert “Bobby “Keys and his wife, Lisa of Concord: a sister-in-law, Iris Keys, of Gladys, VA; and grandchildren, Michael Aaron Keys, Hannah Elizabeth Johnson and Aaron Clay Johnson, numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at the church and 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2025, followed by a funeral service at Thomas Terrace Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Mark Grooms and Pastor Dick Vannoy officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m. in Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery on Rt. 615, Red House Rd.
