Daniel Robert O'Loughlin
April 15, 1937- June 22, 2025
Daniel “Dan” Robert O’Loughlin, 88, of Maryland Heights, Missouri currently residing in Melbourne, Florida passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
We want to Celebrate the life of a man who was a Patriot. A proud Irish-American with a strong Catholic faith. Whose presence was a gift to all who knew him. Dan was a man of deep integrity. Born with the gift of humor and a friend to anyone he ever met.
Born April 15, 1937. Dan was raised in St. Louis, and he was deeply connected to the Irish community there. Where his passion for tradition, history and storytelling was felt by all who knew him.
Dan shared a rich and enduring life with his beloved wife, Joann O'Loughlin. Together they raised a family and built a life in Maryland Heights, Missouri. He is survived by his Wife Joann O’Loughlin and his Sister Patricia Salamone.
Daughters Erin O’Loughlin Savage (Stuart McDonald), Colleen O’Loughlin Schildroth, Kelly O’Loughlin Parker (Jeff Parker) and
Danielle O’Loughlin Stough.
He was the cherished Grandfather to Kristy Johnson (Brandon Johnson) and their children Gabe Daniel, Jadyn, Kaleb, Kellan and Lola.
Taylor Savage-Winters (Jake Winters)
Jake Parker (Megan Parker) Ashley Lore (Wesley Lore) and their children Melvin, Gwen, and Benji. He was a wonderful father in-law and funny “Uncle Dan” to his many nieces and nephews.
Dad Graduated from De Andreis High School in 1955 in St. Louis, Mo. He then went on to College at the University of Missouri-Rolla. UMR. Then became a Civil Engineer.
Spent some of his career working for Southwestern Bell in St. Louis. He had a long career as a Draftsman and Cartographer. Dad had a curious and imaginative mind. He found joy in collecting and drawing maps.
In quieter moments, you could find Dan and Jo working in their vegetable garden. Or he could be found relaxing with a cigar in hand, tuned into Fox News, always engaged in the world around him.
Those who knew Dad will remember him for his deep love he had for his family. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched, in the laughter of his daughters, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren, and the stories passed down through generations.
Dad had an Infectious Zest for Life! He was so positive and the life of any party. His laughter could light up any room.
Dad was an outdoorsman! So much so he even wrote about it. His Missouri Camping and Fishing Guides were published. As a family we traveled the great State of Missouri in our Country Squire camping and fishing in almost every state park. Our Family favorite being Bennett Springs. Since we could learn to hold a fishing rod.
Mom being a fisherwoman and Dan be an avid fisherman.
Dad would be at Bennett Springs March 1st Opening Day of trout season with waders on and a fly rod in hand. With there lifelong group of friends, and or Mama and us girls in tow. All up at 5:00 a.m. when the “whistle blew” at Bennett Springs for the day of fly-fishing to begin.
Dads true passion and hobby.
Dad, you will be deeply missed and forever remembered. 🍀
The Love of my Life, is now with Jesus.
With All my Love, Jo…
