Randy George Contreras was born on November 4, 1989, in Denver, Colorado, to Vincente Contreras and Donna Dominguez. From the very beginning, Randy was full of life, curiosity, and creativity. He had a rare gift—the ability to draw anything he saw, with incredible detail and depth. Art wasn’t just a talent for Randy; it was a part of his soul, a quiet language he used to express what words often couldn’t.
Randy was also a passionate sports fan. He loved all sports—basketball, baseball, football, golf—and you could always count on him to know the stats, the scores, and the story behind every game. He especially loved watching the Olympics. Whether he was watching or playing, sports brought him joy, focus, and connection.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Ruben and Lucrecia Dominguez, Guadalupe and Ruth Contreras, Grandma Marvella, Granny, Uncle George, Uncle Frank, Auntie Bonnie, brother Brandon and his cousins Johnny, Matthew, Mona, and Frannie. Though their absence is deeply felt, we take comfort in knowing they are now welcoming him with open arms.
Randy leaves behind a family who will forever carry his memory: his mother and father, Donna and Vince; his sister Sheila (Jay); his brothers Tony, Richard, and Vince (Reesha); and the love of his life, Sarah. He was a proud and devoted father to his children—Analea, Randy Jr., Olivia, and Aubrey—who were truly the center of his world.
He is also survived by a large and loving family of aunties, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends who became family. To know Randy was to know laughter, loyalty, creativity, and a heart that gave without hesitation.
Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in the legacy he leaves behind—in the sketches he drew, the games he cheered for, the love he poured into his children, and the lives he touched with his spirit. Randy will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
