Doris Dufrene

Doris L Stuckey (Hom)Dufrene born August 5th, 1940, in LaPlace, LA and went to be with the Lord, June 25th, 2025, in Winter Haven, FL.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dearly beloved mother. Doris was born in LaPlace, La and lived in New Orleans; Slidell, Alabama and Florida Coasts. Doris was devoutly committed to her faith to Christ in the Catholic Church. Doris graduated Slidell High School in Slidell, LA in1959, where she excelled in music, marching band and became the Band Queen.  Doris enjoyed a career in the retail service field. She loved to cook and was an avid swimmer and loved the beach.  

She is preceded in death by her parents, Florence Faciane Hom and Yen Sang “Jimmy” Hom and Charles Stuckey of Alabama. She is survived by her brother, Jimmy L Hom (Faith) of Biloxi MS; children, Desiree M Dufrene Hernandez (Mark) of Biloxi MS, Daphne A Dufrene Wilde (Mike) of Ariton, AL and Darlene A Dufrene Peturis (Giuseppe, deceased) of Winter Haven, FL; grandchildren, Brandon Adams (Lindsey), Jason Adams (Erika), Joseph Joey Peturis, Peter Peturis, Angelena Peturis, Stephanie Peturis, Luke Ditmore; great grandchildren, Ava Adams, John Rhodes, Georgia Adams, Leanne Johnson; a host of loving nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.  

Professional services were entrusted to Oak Ridge Funeral Care 2425 Havendale Blvd Winter Haven, FL 33881. Doris was laid to rest next to her parents in a celebration of her life ceremony with family in Lumberton, MS.

In lieu of flowers memorial charitable donations may be made to The Diabetes Foundation.
