In Loving Memory of
Felix L. Ramos Batista, 87 years old, passed away peacefully with his loving daughter by his side at the Vitas Hospice in Rockledge, FL on Monday July 14, 2025. He was born on March 25, 1938 to Ramon and Eufamia Ramos Batista in Morovis, Puerto Rico. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Felix also lived in Bronx, New York for many years. He enjoyed working closely with his older siblings in the bodegas before going back to Morovis, Puerto Rico. His love for his island did not keep him away for too long, so it was natural that he returned to his beautiful island.
Felix loved his children and enjoyed family time. He had a very contagious smile that would brighten up your day, as he asked “how are you doing” in his soft voice. Felix enjoyed playing dominos with friends, family and with his neighbors in Morovis. He also enjoyed dancing to salsa music. He had such a great sense humor as well. Felix was a very hard worker, and enjoyed working with his hands. He loved building homes, and worked in construction for many years in Puerto Rico before he retired.
Felix came to Melbourne in December 2023, one of his many trips here. He also traveled to Massachusetts, where he loved the different seasons, but was not fond of the snow. Unfortunately due to his declining health Felix could not return to Puerto Rico and remained with his daughter and family in Melbourne.
Felix did enjoy his time here. He loved going for walks in the neighborhood and walking the family dog Bruno, all while conversing with the many neighbors that met him. He quickly became a welcomed presence in the neighborhood.
Felix also enjoyed visiting family, and having family get togethers at home. He enjoyed eating out at restaurants and visiting the beaches. His absolute favorite thing was attending the Joes Club adult daycare. There he was loved by the staff and the residents that attended the facility.
Felix is survived by his daughter Diane and her husband Donald Gray of Melbourne, his son Felix L. Ramos, also of Melbourne.
His step children that he also loved included, Wanda and her husband Andrew Kacavish of Melbourne, Joseph Vasquez of Worcester, MA. He was preceded in death by two other step children, Edward and George Carrion.
Felix comes from a very large family of twelve siblings, five siblings preceded him in death. He is survived by seven brothers and sisters in Puerto Rico and New York.
Felix leaves behind his loving grandchildren Shamika Walker of Melbourne, Nicholas and his wife Carissa Perez of Palm Bay, Jeannette and her husband Larry Jarnes of Melbourne. He also leaves behind many great grandchildren, and two great, great grandchildren that he had the chance to spend time with and loved. Felix also has many nieces and nephews all through out Puerto Rico and New York.
A celebration of life is planned for a later date and will take place in Morovis, Puerto Rico. His daughter plans to bring him home to his beloved island of Puerto Rico, where he will be laid to rest with his parents and his siblings, in the family plot.
