Romero Funeral Home and Cremations - Denver
Eddie Tenorio
March 30th, 1941 - July 16th, 2025
Eddie Tenorio passed away July 16, 2025. He was born on
March 30, 1941, in La Junta, CO, to Jose Maria and Mercedes
Tenorio. He is survived by his wife Kathleen (Kathy), children
Leroy Gallegos, Carrie (Kevin ) Casanova, Ryan Wilson,
Kevin Tenorio, Eddie Kluge and Daphne(nee Kluge) Smith.
Several beautiful grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and
many much-loved nieces and nephews. In addition, he is survived
by his sister Natividad (Herb) Garcia.
Eddie grew up in small farm communities in Colorado, like Ovid,
Julesburg and Holyoke. When his family settled in Westminster,
he helped on the small truck farms in the Denver area. He worked
for a time at Koppers Company in Denver, driving a locomotive to
transport lumber for pressure treatment.
In the 1960s, he moved to Kansas City and worked for a rental
company. March 29, 1966 he was inducted into the U.S. Army.
He was sent to Viet Nam and was injured in March 1967.
After recovering from his injuries, he finished his service at
Ft. Carson, CO, and was honorably discharged March 28, 1968.
Continuing to reside in Kansas City for a few more years he
returned to Denver in the early 1970s. He had a lifelong fondness
for Kansas City, and remained a devoted fan of the Chiefs football
team.
Back in Denver, he learned to drive semi-trucks and joined
Teamsters Local 7. He drove for NW Transport until they closed
in 1999. After that, he went to work for Northglenn Winnsupply,
retiring in the fall of 2024. He truly loved his Winnsupply
"family" and would probably still be working there had his
health not failed him.
He enjoyed going to Black Hawk to the casinos. If he wasn't
home, he was likely "up the hill". He liked spending time with
family and friends and going out to eat at his favorite place.
Las Delicias restaurant.
Eddie was preceded in death by his sister Mary (Joe) Ortiz, and
his brothers Pete, Danny and Johnny Tenorio.
