June B. Johnson

June B. Johnson, 100, passed away on July 21, 2025, in Ocala, Florida.  She was born on August 15, 1924, in Lakeland, Florida. 

She attended Plant High School in Tampa, Florida and Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia.  June married Captain Byron B. Johnson on September 28, 1943.  They moved in Ocala in 1947.  A full-time homemaker and mother to her children Tim and Sara.  She was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church and the Ocala Women's Club.  She enjoyed cooking, arranging flowers, and all kinds of crafts. 

June is preceded in death by her parents Sara C. and Emmett Harold Beasley, brothers Walter C. Beasley and Hal Beasley and her husband Byron B. Johnson. 

She is survived by her daughter Sara Johnson Lamb and  Ed Lamb, Valdosta, Georgia, granddaughters Taylor Lamb Toler and Kyle Toler, Washington, DC, Allison Lamb DeRoech and Christin DeRoech, Athens, Georgia, son Tim Johnson and Ruthy Young, Ocala, Florida, grandson Tim B. Johnson and Channing Johnson of Ocala, Florida, great-grandchildren Clark Johnson, Russell Johnson, Ocala, Florida.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, Florida 34470 with the Rev. Tim Machtel officiating. 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Marion County.
