Debora “Deb” Darlene (Deeter) Kemp, age 68, unexpectedly passed away on July 16, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
Deb was born on May 21, 1957, in Lexington, Nebraska and raised in Belvidere, Illinois. She spent most of her life in the northern Illinois area, calling Poplar Grove and Garden Prairie home. In May 2024, Deb and her devoted husband, Jack Kemp, relocated to Casa Grande, Arizona, to be closer to their daughter, Kira, and three beloved grandchildren.
Deb was a kind and nurturing soul who dedicated her life to God, her family and friends she called family. She found great joy in being a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend—always offering warmth, support, and a listening ear. Her easy laugh, gentle heart, and love for those closest to her made a lasting impact on everyone she met.
She is now reunited with her son, John Kemp, who passed away in August 2012.
Deb is survived by her loving husband, Jack Kemp; her daughter, Kira [Ryne Bastyr]; her cherished grandchildren: [Kemper, Maeva, Nixon]; her mother, Loretta Hagan and mother-in-law, Marilyn Hanson. She also leaves behind extended family and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close. She was preceded in death by her son John Kemp, her father Donald Deeter, and brothers Dwight and Dudley Hagan.
Deb’s legacy lives on through the love she gave, the wisdom she shared, and the family she helped shape. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
A celebration of life will be held August 8th, 2025, at the American Legion, 900 W Chrysler Dr., Belvidere, IL 61008, at 2pm. There will be a remembrance service at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Deb’s memory by sharing kindness with others—something she did so naturally every day.
