Ursula G. Reese, 90, of Columbia, South Carolina went to be with her Lord, July 18, 2025. She was born on October 25, 1934, in Berlin, Germany to the late Erich and Emma (Friebe) Schultz of Berlin, Germany. Ursula was a devoted Christian and was very active in her church. She taught Sunday School to children and adults, assisted in Vacation Bible Schools during the summers, and was a member of the Protestant Women of the Chapel. She was an active swimmer, and a member of the “Swim Team” and the Fort Jackson Pool system. She enjoyed crocheting and was a member of a group at the Richland County Public Library on Garners Ferry Road, in Columbia, South Carolina. She taught crocheting to her grandchildren at home and others at the library. Her group was responsible for making blankets for the Prisma Children’s Hospital, in Columbia, South Carolina. She was a loving mother, Oma, and great Oma and friend, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Ursula is survived by her son, Charles Reese (Rebecca) of Lexington, South Carolina, and her daughter Carole Reese of Columbia, South Carolina; her four grandchildren, Carrie Barron (Neil) of Travelers Rest, South Carolina, Maggie Steen (Brandon) of Lexington, South Carolina, Michael Reese of Lexington, South Carolina, Amanda Wilson (Brandon) of Walterboro, South Carolina; her great-grandchildren, Brooke Barron, Jameson Pedigo, Benjamin and Emily Wilson, Ameila and Owen Steen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon K. Reese, of Coudersport, Pennsylvania, and her daughter, Dorothy E. Skoland, of Walterboro, South Carolina.
The family will hold a private burial at Elmwood Cemetery, Columbia, South Carolina, on Friday, July 25, 2025. A Celebration of Life ceremony honoring Ursula will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Ursula by sharing a favorite memory, taking a trip with loved ones, or by donating to her church, to "Ft. Our oldest sister died due to complications of pancreatic cancer.
