Anita Jean Smith
November 29th, 1949 - July 20th, 2025
In Loving Memory of
Anita Jean Smith, age 75, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 20, 2025 at William Childs Hospice House in Palm Bay, Florida.
Anita was born on November 29, 1949, in Laconia, New Hampshire, to Milton James Smith Sr. and Doris Marie Dudley-Smith. She graduated from Laurel High School in Maryland in 1968 and began her career the following year with Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company. In 1978, she transitioned to Southern Bell in Melbourne, Florida.
In 1981, Anita married and later welcomed two sons, raising them in Florida before relocating with her family to Canada. She eventually returned to Florida in 1995, where she continued her professional journey and later retired from Wells Fargo in 2017.
Retirement gave Anita the time to fully enjoy her passions –acrylic painting, tending to her flourishing vegetable and flower gardens, and immersing herself in the beauty of nature.
She was predeceased by her brothers Harry, Robert and Simmie.
Anita is lovingly survived by her sons, Brandon and Kenn; her sisters, Sharon and Cindy; her brothers, Milton, Larry, Gary, and Jerry; as well as cherished nieces and nephews.
Anita is remembered as a kind and caring mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She had a deep love for animals, nature and art—and a wonderfully offbeat sense of humor that brought joy and laughter to all that knew her.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Anita Jean Smith on Sunday, August 17, at the Compass Pointe Clubhouse at 707 Rochester Drive, West Melbourne, Fl. 32904 from 2PM - 4PM.
