Bowen "Bo" Kenneth Worthy
February 19th, 2021 - July 15th, 2025
Gone too soon...
Bowen Kenneth Worthy (Bo) born on February 19, 2021, was the very beloved son of Greg and Tonya Worthy. Mighty brother to Patrick Karlyle Wilson (14), Riley Grace Worthy (14), Brenna Lee Worthy (12), Samuel Joseph Wilson (10) and Kenzie Marie Worthy (9). Bo is also survived by his Aunt Anna Simonelli, Sarah Simonelli and Michelle Worthy. Maternal grandparents, Michael and Susan Simonelli, fraternal grandparents, Ricky and Paula Worthy and one cousin, Faith Worthy. He ran into the arms of Jesus, July 15, 2025.
Although the youngest in a beautiful Brady bunch type family, Bo was a force of nature bursting with personality and a fierceness for his people. He loved playing with his siblings which often resulted in wrestling matches and endless games of chase. Diagnosed at the age of two with level 3 autism, Bo continued to knock down barriers. With the amazing help and support from his team of therapists at The Behavior Co, Carolina Behavior and Beyond and several speech and occupational therapists, Bo came out of his shell. His love was earned, and it was the highest compliment for him to climb into your lap. He was a boy of many names- BoBo, BoBear, BoBerry Biscuit, Bobinski, The Biscuit, Jangles, Bosaphine and more. He worked tirelessly to learn to communicate in his own way, and he impressed everyone with his determination and abilities.
He was magic to all who knew him and was fiercely loved by all. His laughter and smile lit our entire world. He is the very best part of each of us. His time with us was short. Only four beautiful years. Four years filled with happy flaps, jumping, throwing balls, seeing the world through his beautiful eyes, all things color, sassy side eye, joyous laughs and shrieks, his favorite (not so soft) blue blanket, feeling his sweet nose on our feet, holding hands, the best hugs, couch snuggles, nose kisses, starbursts, Oreos, Bojangles fries, shopping trips, water play, swimming, running free, smiles for days and love. Love in the purest of forms. It needed no words. He was surrounded by love, admiration and constant support. We are so grateful we were chosen to be his family. He completed us.
In keeping with Bo's generous spirit, we chose to have his organs donated. He was always our miracle and our answered prayers. Now he is that for other families. We would like to thank the PICU nurses and doctors at Prisma Health Children's hospital, Richland County EMS and the ER staff for working so hard for our boy. Their loving care, compassion and support helped sustain us. Special thanks also go to Sharing Hope of SC for helping us turn our heartbreak into hope. Thank you to everyone who came to support Bo is his final walk of honor. Your presence made it the biggest Sharing Hope and Prisma Health have ever seen. It is forever etched into our hearts. We have felt each of your prayers and have leaned on them every day.
In lieu of flowers, we are asking for gifts and contributions be made to The Behavior Co in Bo's name. Never stop speaking about our magical boy. Tell everyone Bo's story. He will live forever in our words, our actions and our hearts.
A celebration of his superhero life will be planned in the coming weeks.
