Maureen Esposito Freeman

Maureen Esposito Freeman, 80, of Haines City, FL, passed away on July 22, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 12, 1945, in Brooklyn, NY to Joseph and Catherine Polluck Esposito. In 1989, Maureen relocated to Florida from Haverstraw, NY, with her late husband, Patrick. She worked as a licensed practical nurse for 40 years, where she devoted herself to caring for others until her retirement. Maureen was a faithful member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Haines City.

Maureen enjoyed sewing and knitting, and she found great joy in spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren. She had a special bond with her great-granddaughter, Mackenzie, and they shared countless memories baking cookies and cornbread together. Maureen also loved taking the kids shopping and treasured those moments. She was known for her kind heart, her joyful spirit, and her unwavering love and care for others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Catherine; her beloved husband, Patrick Joseph Freeman; her son, Robin Kocot; and her siblings, Francis, Vincent, Michael, and Cathy Esposito. She is survived by her children, Stanley Kocot, Maureen (John) Pata, Kim Marie Kocot, and Crystal Lynn (Angelo) Cortez; her brother, Joseph Esposito; grandchildren, Andrea Young, Andrew Kocot, Anthony Pata, John Pata Tyler, Jordan, Larissa and Nicole Kocot; great-grandchildren, Dominick Kocot, Christopher Cortez, Victoria Cortez, and Mackenzie Cortez; and great-great-grandchildren, Aria and Arlo Kocot, Enzo and Ezra Floris.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m., all at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City. Maureen will be laid to rest at Forest Hill Cemetery in Haines City, Florida.
