Ellen Ann Horne

Ellen Ann (Chatom) Horne 80 of Ocala, Florida passed away on July 27, 2025 in Interlachen, Florida.  She was born on August 17, 1944 to Dorsey and Mattie Shaw Chatom in Mobile, Alabama. 

Early in life Ellen worked for her family grocery store and was a waitressing at a local restaurant.  Once she married, she enjoyed being a homemaker proudly cared for her children, stepchildren, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Her hobbies included yard sales, sewing, collecting and most of all being with and enjoying her family. 

She is preceded in death by her parents Dorsey and Mattie Shaw Chatom, spouse Lawrence C. Horne, Sr., and eleven brothers and sisters. 

Ellen is survived by her daughter Sarah Wilson, Interlachen, Florida, son Lawrence C. Horne, Jr., Michigan, daughter Ellen Viselli, Ocala, Florida, stepdaughters Leila Weller, Michigan, Cynthia Chaffin, Middleburg, Florida, Lorraine Beckham, Ocala, Florida granddaughter Miranda Dias-Greenwood, Ocala, Florida, grandson Lawrence Greenwood, Interlachen, Florida, step-granddaughter Melissa Simmer, Middleburg, Florida, step-grandson Christopher Chaffin, Middleburg, Florida, step-granddaughters Christen Beckham, Ocala, Florida, Katelyn Beckham, Ocala, Florida, Alyson Viselli, Ocala, Florida, Marissa Viselli, Saint Petersburg, Florida, 5 great-granddaughters and a great grandson.
