Caroline Vanover Lindler, beloved mother, wife, grandmother, and friend, passed away into the arms of the Lord on August 2nd, 2025, after a brave fight with cancer. Caroline was born to Charles and Margaret Vanover in Kettering, England, and was the second-oldest of 4 brothers.  

Growing up in an Army family, Caroline moved to the United States in her youth and graduated from Lower Richland High School in 1973. She went on to build a long and respected career as a paralegal, working faithfully alongside Ken Mathews for nearly 45 years.  

As a devoted mother, Caroline’s greatest joy in life was her two sons, Nicholas and Jonathan, whom she cherished deeply. She also found blessing in her two daughters-in-law, Nancy and Dallas, whose love and care brought her great comfort, especially in the final months of her life. Her grandchildren, Matthew and Kinsley, made her smile shine so brightly anytime she saw or spoke of them.  

Later in life, Caroline found lasting love with her late husband, Mark Lindler. Their bond was one of true companionship; it brings her family comfort knowing they are reunited.  

Caroline was known for her sweet and strong spirit. She had a deep love for her French Bulldog, Ozzie, who was never far from her side. She found joy in the simple pleasures: days spent on the lake, vacations with family, and the warmth of shared laughter.  

She will be remembered for her strength, grace, and the love she gave so freely to those around her.  

Caroline’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were lucky enough to know her.  

The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209 on Friday August 8, 2025 from 10:00AM until 11:00AM Funeral services will follow in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park following the chapel service.
