Thomas F. Brewster (aka Rick) 74, went home to the Lord, August 2, 2025. He was born on January 13, 1951, in Chattanooga, TN. He completed a year of college, then left Chattanooga in 1969 to join the U.S. Air Force. His 22-year commitment molded him into a well-rounded individual. He had the opportunity through military life to obtain an education and travel to places that he never has imagined such as Vietnam, Thailand, Korea, England, Egypt, Philippines, Grenada, Guam, the Marshall Islands, Idaho, Virginia, Florida, California, and Hawaii, where he retired.

 

As a relatively young retiree, he re-entered the workforce and gained employment with Aeronautical Radio, Inc. as an enroute Air Traffic Controller for 22 years.  During this time, he became a member of the Motu’āina playing the pahu, toere, faa’tete, and pau tu’pai drums.

 

Thomas was an active member of the West End CPCA Church in Fayetteville, TN, Solera Architectural Review Board and Solera Men’s Group.

 

His interests included golf, pickleball, bicycling and being surrounded by friends and family while enjoying the finer things of life with the Solera community.

 

He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Eva Jones-Brewster, his children; Monica Brewster (Chad), Modesto, CA, and Shaun Brewster (Nicole), Greenville, TX, his siblings Pastor E.D. Brewster Sr. (Loretta), Macon, GA and Jacqueline (Jackie) Woods (Lamar), McDonough, GA; seven grandchildren Malia Lehua, Bryce, Zayden, Kai, Avery, Mila, and Aikou; one great grandson, Greighson; a host of nieces, nephews, and loving family.

 

Rick is preceded in death by his parents Jerry D. and Evelyn Brewster, and a brother Jerry D. Brewster.

 

Thomas will be laid to rest at the National Cemetery, 2929 E. Pinnacle Peak, Phoenix, AZ on Thursday, November 13, 2025.  A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, November 14, 2025, at Solera Community the Ballroom, Chandler, AZ.
