Frederick Corliss Abbott, 86, passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 in Colorado Springs, Colorado at home with his family by his side.

 

He was born on July 2, 1937 in Newton, Massachusetts.

 

In his lifetime, Frederick served honorably in the United States Air Force for 22 years, as a broadcaster in Radio and TV. Afterward, he worked as a Postal Service Letter Carrier for twenty years. Throughout his years, he loved music, the craft of broadcasting, and travelling with his family. He often showed a dry sense of humor and charm. He will be missed dearly by those closest to him, especially by his wife of 62 years.

 

Frederick is survived by his wife, Hannelore Martha Abbott; his son, Eric Abbott; his daughter, Elke Abbott; his granddaughters, Janel Abbott, Lauren (Blake) Rogers, Celeste Abbott, and Keira Abbott; his great-granddaughter, Victoria Rogers; his sister Bernice Nahass of Natick, MA; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives in the US and Germany.

 

Frederick was preceded in death by his brother, Alton A. Abbott of Natick, MA; and sister, Evelyn Hodgdon of Maynard, MA.
