Regena Fuson
November 18th, 1931 - February 26th, 2024
At the age of 92 years, Regena Fuson passed away quietly on Monday, February 26.
She is survived by a brother Chuck Leland, sister-in law Shannon, Daughter Carol, granddaughters Bethany Lucas and Tiffany Lucas, great grandsons Gabriel Evans and Adrian Cole. Nephews Tracy Leland, Richard Leland, Nieces Cindy and Dawn and several grand-nieces and nephews.
She will be missed but never forgotten.
For the past several years, she had lived in an Adult Foster Home, and cared for lovingly by Dexter and Karen, two people who cared greatly for her.
Regena was born in Santa Monica, CA to Charles and Rulana Leland. They moved to Oregon when Regena was 3 years old.
She was the oldest of three; brothers Charles and Richard were each born 7 years apart.
She would tell of her pranks with her brother, Chuck: she would whip up soap into a foam and tell him it was whipped cream. Apparently, he fell for it more than once.
Regena married James Fuson in 1953. They had known each other since they were young children and had been married for 62 years at the time of his death. Both of them served in the Army. Jim passed away in March of 2015.
Regena spent most of her working life doing invoicing at U.S.Plywood, then later Champion International when they merged. She retired early so they both could travel.
They loved traveling and visited Germany and Austria to see where Jim had been stationed during the Korean War.
They went to England twice as they loved it there, Alaska several times as they thought it was so beautiful. Ireland, Italy and Sweden were some other places they visited.
Family was always the most important thing to Regena.
She loved her family and took great pleasure in being with them.
She enjoyed hearing about her granddaughters and great grandsons, and always asked about them. She was so proud of all of them and regularly said so.
She loved to visit an English Tea room with family. Jim, Regena, Carol, Bethany, Tiffany, Gabe and Adrian would enjoy a British High Tea, complete with tea, soup, salad, sandwiches with crusts cut off, scones with lemon curd and clotted cream and petit four cakes for dessert. She loved to do this every time family came to town. It was tradition.
They would all sit for hours sipping tea and talking.
At her request, there will be no official memorial service, but the family will hold one at a later date.
You are invited to view the online obituary and add your own memories and sign the guestbook at www.musgroves.com.
She will be greatly missed by those who loved her.
